I have barely moved from my computer today! I’ve been going through all these cute pictures and trying to pick my favorite from each session to blog. I got through Day 1 so far, Day 2 should be ready tomorrow!
I will be the first to admit that the success of this event has surprised me. I knew I had a good idea, put a lot of effort and planning into it, but Saturday morning before the first doggies arrived I started to wonder what I’d gotten myself into! In theory this should work, but would it work in reality? Not only did I get adorable pictures of every single pet, but we raised $955 for Leon County Humane Society!!! Everyone was so generous and we’re all just overwhelmed with that amount. Thanks to you, lots of homeless animals can get the medical care they desperately need. Many of the dogs photographed were rescued so I tried to make a note of them all-if something is highlighted in pink it’s a hyperlink and will take you to a website with more info.
Now on to the pictures!!
The day started off with a bang….meet siblings Weatherby and Gracie. Gracie is a rescued dog who was very nervous but I’m thrilled with the image I got of her:
I have to say this is one picture I’m very proud of….we worked hard for this one! Odie is a rescued dog from Mid-West Pug Rescue and Max is a pet therapy dog with ComForT:
I think Grendel is a pet therapy dog too! Everyone knew who he was, he was kind of famous! I guess when you’re a 200 pound Great Dane that looks like a pony you get remembered:
Scooby was a very dainty, sweet and nervous Italian Greyhound. He was rescued from the Greyhound Rescue Association. (not sure if I found the exact link, but this will take you to one on adopting Greyhounds)
Sidney was adopted from Leon County Animal Shelter and was very well behaved thanks to some great obedience training from Ann Summers! (contact me if you need her info….I’ll be calling her soon myself!)
Bailey got passed around from a local shelter to Northwood Animal Hospital, before his mommy adopted him at 5 and a half months. A year later and he’s a happy little guy!
Lacey, who you met yesterday, is also a pet therapy dog with ComForT and visits nursing homes and rehab centers. How could this face not make you feel happy?
Clyde was adopted from Big Dog Rescue after his family fostered him for awhile. I guess they just couldn’t live without this sweet face!
Snuffy is also a pet therapy dog with 7 kitty siblings! (they stayed home) He even has a Good Citizen badge he gets to wear:
You met Tubbs yesterday sticking his tongue out, but here he is with his buddy Dixie. I’m pretty proud of this one too!
This little guy was super nervous about having his picture taken, so we sat him on mom’s lap for this one. Worked pretty well! I think he was adopted from LCHS:
And Pinky was really nervous too. She has a major attachment to her mommy and thought we were trying to separate them! She was rescued from the Tallahassee-Leon Animal Service Center:
Whew! I’m exhausted just looking through these! 🙂 I’ll be working hard on round 2, coming tomorrow!!

Kylene, Just wanted to thank you for including Kasey’s picture in your blog! Looking at her, you would never even think that she’s amost 15 1/2 years old. She was a very good girl during the shoot, surprising both me and my mom. Thanks again, and I can’t wait for the photos.

Such great photos! Great idea too! I love taking pics of our Honey, She is a poser! She thinks she was born to be a model or show dog or something! ( know….she told me! 😉 )She was so cooperative every time I took some; even close ups, but to take on all those strange pets and get such good ones, you must be gifted! You have such talent! I got into viewing your wedding photos last night and before I knew it I was up til 5 am! They are so awesome Kylene! Great creativity and unique opportunities for photos!
