I love the story of how Melissa and I came to meet each other! She was a bridesmaid in my (now photographer) friend Beth Johnson’s wedding, and we kept in touch ever since then. (you can see a cameo in Beth’s wedding blog post from over two years ago!) She was sweet enough to come volunteer to doggie wrangle at my very first Sit. Stay. Smile! event at the Humane Society! I believe she and Eric were newly dating and he was with her at Beth’s wedding. Now they are engaged themselves and planning a beautiful Monticello wedding for next May!

Melissa & Eric wanted an engagement shoot that reflected their personalities, so they picked out a cool spot that will be my new “best kept secret”! It was a workout, but we climbed hills, explored abandoned garages, and climbed over railroad tracks. Melissa wanted to showcase her gorgeous Texas cowgirl boots, so we did just that! Today is Melissa’s birthday, so what better day to post their sneak peek? Happy birthday girl! 🙂

I have to say, this picture gives a much cooler image of “whipping your hair back and forth”! 🙂
