There are so many ways to define “Family”, and my dear friends Jackie and Derek really have it figured out. Everytime I have the chance to visit, they open up their doors and welcome me with open arms. (even when I intruded 5 days after their twins were born!) There’s never any complaining about being tired as they juggle being new parents, teachers and friends to everyone that comes in their path. One of the many perks of going to visit is a home-cooked meal from Derek…dang it’s good! The boys are now nearing their 10th month of life and are just bursting with personality. It was such a fun stage to photograph them in – they’re crawling so they’re getting into stuff, but not running yet so I can kind of keep up with them. 🙂 Enjoy the latest look at Elijah & Joseph!
Joseph is on the left with the gorgeous red hair and blue eyes, and Elijah is on the right with the craziest cute dimples and sweet brown eyes!
They got shy when we went outside. Between the crunchy grass and hot bright sun, they weren’t quite in their element! But still stinkin adorable:
One of my favorites:
I was making so many silly noises trying to get their attention, that all of a sudden they both started scooting towards me at lightning speed! I handed the camera to Jackie and she captured, “Attack of the Babies!”
I was so surprised at how attached they were to this ONE toy! It’s a Baby Einstein baseball bat, and Jackie warned me what would happen if she pulled it out. Even though they’re twins, there’s only one of each toy so they can learn how to share. (pretty smart, huh?) I thought these were hilarious….Elijah’s sneak attack on the left, and then his negotiating skills on getting the bat from Joseph. 🙂
Elijah thought my reflector was really cool and kept crawling over to play with it. What’s a girl to do?
Now let me introduce you to Booker! Jackie and Derek have known him since he was in the 7th grade and decided to keep him as their own. He’s like a big brother to the twins – whenever he’s around, mom and dad are like chopped liver! This is just another special dimension of their family that I find so awesome:
See what I mean? Joseph only wants to play with Booker! I’m chopped liver too!
Til next time you guys! Hopefully I can come visit close to your 1st birthday and we can smash some cake!

Girl . . . I don’t know how you do it. I just don’t know. I was there (obviously) and I just don’t know how you work your magic. I live with these two stinkers, so I see these hilarious faces all the time, but there is no way to appropriately thank you for capturing them for me. They are priceless. Just priceless. I am so grateful that I will have these images to cherish for the rest of my life–to remind me, every time I look at them, exactly what they were like at this stage of their little lives. You are just amazing. And then there’s Book . . . you don’t know how hard it is to get him to show his amazing smile in a picture and now we have THE BEST family picture IN THE WORLD! Everyone can’t get over that pic of all of us! The debt just keeps growing . . . I don’t know how I will ever catch up and pay you back. We love you to pieces and thank you more than ever.

I always look forward to seeing the pictures you take of the boys. As an extra bonus, the family picture with Booker was absolutely fabulous! I haven’t seen Booker in so long, all I can do is say thank you for continuing to shoot pictures of the Ihnenfeld fam!
