“Things I Love” Thursday

There’s always new things that I’m loving!  Here’s a few that are on my brain this week:

Engagement Albums –  What are  your plans for your engagement pictures?  Most of the time I think people take them because it’s traditional and they need something for the paper.  But why put all those nice pictures to waste?  Create a one-of-a-kind guestbook for your guests to sign at your reception!  I put together 10.5 x 12 inch books for my clients and use their engagement pictures with some space around them so there’s room to write a little message.  It’s much more fun than the run-of-the-mill “sign here” guestbook, and it will be a keepsake you’ll have for life!

Swimming –  I am what my husband calls an “indoor girl”.  I don’t do well with heat and typically need to be kept cool or else I’ll pass out!  This was the same when I was little, so to keep me involved in a sport my parents signed me up for the swim team!  I had my first lesson before I could even walk!  Swimming has always held a special place in my heart so I was really excited to get Rylie signed up for the local team a few months ago.  She’s always been good in the water but had never learned the strokes or good technique.  After a few weeks of practice she started to improve and she had her first swim meet on Valentine’s Day.  We were all a little nervous because we had no idea how the meet would go, how good the other kids were, but Rylie was determined to have fun regardless.

She swam 3 events and did amazingly well!  They divide the girls up into “heats” and Rylie placed 2nd in her heat for the 50 meter freestyle (2 lengths of the pool) and got 1st in her heat for the 50 backstroke!!  I was seriously so excited and just felt really proud that she did so well.  She’s got another meet coming up this weekend, wish her luck! (seriously, she’d think it was sooo cool if everyone left her a comment!) Here’s a few pics from her meet last month:

All that worked paid off!

American Idol –  Everyone has their reality show guilty pleasures, and American Idol is mine!  I’ve been a faithful watcher ever since season 2 and am definitely loving this season so far!  This is my “Top 3”, we’ll see if my predictions are right!  In this order:

Adam Lambert, Danny Gokey and Allison Iraheta….lovin you guys!  I think mainly because they pick songs I really like, so that always helps.  And Adam was in the cast of Wicked so he earns credit with me there too! Who are you guys rooting for?

So that’s what I’m digging on this week!  Tune in next week for more “Things I Love”!  Have a great weekend!

The BEST investment I made for our wedding day was definitely booking Kylene and Ryan Studios! It was such a blessing to have you both there to capture all of the PERFECT moments of that day. You all made us feel comfortable and relaxed in front of the lens and all around were pleasant to be around.

Kylene and Ryan are the worlds best photographers! Not only did I love every picture they took but they also were great to work with. I am not the greatest when it comes to taking pictures and knowing what I might like but they knew exactly what I wanted even when I didn’t. I would highly recommend them for every event.

They were the absolute best! So friendly, so fun and professional. The photos were amazing and they took the time to get some of the more ridiculous shots I requested. BONUS: they were amazing with our nephew. He is autistic. He was our ring-bearer and was having a difficult day, which isn’t unexpected for a day like that. Could not recommend enough.

Hands down, I would recommend Kylene & Ryan to anyone in a heartbeat. We used them for our engagement photos, a boudoir shoot for me, and our wedding photography. Every single time we saw their work, we were blown away. What first drew us to them was their beautiful work–but what also hooked us was how incredibly fun, sweet, professional, and hard-working they are.

Wow, what an incredible experience! It was such a joy working with this team. They had us laughing and enjoying every minute of our special day. And the pictures are STUNNING! They really went above and beyond to create unique and memorable moments we will cherish always.
