I know I sound like a broken record, but this is another wedding that makes me realize how thankful I am for our clients. They are gracious and wonderful, and treat us like family. We always send out a little questionnaire the week leading up to the wedding, and one of the questions is for any specific photo requests. Kristina responded by saying, “No specific requests, we love your work and trust that you will do an amazing job!” Wow, seriously? That means so much to us….so thanks guys!
There was a little bit of drama surrounding the date choice for Kristina and Matt’s special day, but I love a January wedding and I think it turned out perfectly in the end (who needs November anyways?). It was the perfect way to start off our year, and we finally got to shoot a wedding at Hotel Duval! I only drive past the darn thing 3 times a day at least…. We loved getting to work there and the close proximity everything was to each other. Just a short elevator ride away!
I am blogging this wedding from the airport in Bangkok, Thailand. Ryan and I are heading off on another adventure – one more flight and we will begin our week in Koh Samui! We will keep you posted via our Facebook page!

The look on Kristina’s nephew’s face is quite priceless….not feeling the bowtie!
Little man is ready to carry the train!
It was a tad bit windy up on Level 8! Love these two of Kristina – they each have such a different feel.
These bridesmaid dresses are some of the most unique ones I’ve seen. I loved them!
I was a little leary of shooting in a downstairs ballroom with no flash, but the lighting on the altar area was pretty darn ok! (it’s a personal rule we have, not to use flash during a wedding ceremony. We feel it’s distracting and disruptive to the feel of that special moment)
Possibly the most gorgeous bridal party ever? 😉
Everyone braved the outside cold, and Ryan braved the traffic on Monroe Street for this shot! I think it was worth it though!
The “bubbles” (as I like to call them) in the Hotel Duval ballroom make for such a unique backdrop for the first dance:
Matron of Honor, Rachel, giving a heartfelt toast:
It was a joy being a part of your special day guys! More to come soon!
I think I’m going to start trying to post “behind-the-scenes” photos. They’re fun, don’t you think? Here’s the man hard at work!
