If you get weak in the knees over cute stuff, then take a seat. Because you are about to meet the cutest little boys ever! Monday I made the 3 hour drive to Minneola to visit with Jackie and Derek and meet their sons, Elijah Thomas and Joseph Marcel. Not only did we take lots of pictures, but I got to spend a solid 24 hours in the life of new parents with TWO babies. It was actually tons of fun! There was more time where they were happy or sleeping than crying and pooping. The coolest part was that in that short period of time, not only could I tell the two apart (they’re fraternal so it’s not too hard) but if one started crying I knew which one it was! They were so different after being alive just 5 days. It was amazing.
I’ll remind you what Jackie looked like over Halloween at 30 weeks pregnant. By the time they were born she was measuring 60 weeks pregnant – ummmm, that’s like being pregnant for over a year!?
I’ll just post my favorite straight out of the gate….I can’t resist. Elijah is on the top and has dark brown hair just like Jackie. Joseph is on the bottom and has strawberry blonde hair like Derek. They each have their own clone, it was the coolest thing:
Santa came early this year and left some presents under the tree:
Joseph had enough picture taking as you can see in the picture on the bottom:
Joseph was named after Jackie’s dad who passed away not too long ago. I love these shirts – we decided to say that Grandpa Joe picked out a present from heaven for Jackie and Derek:
I’d love to tell you that photographing twins was easy. But it was so stinkin hard! One would be passed out asleep, and the other was crying. Then they’d switch….so I used my time and photographed them separately a bit whenever the other wasn’t having it. Here’s Elijah under the tree waiting for Joseph to chill out and join the party:
I had to photograph them in the outfits I bought, even though they swallowed them up! They’re newborn onesies but still so big!
Here’s my favorite picture of Joseph by himself. He was so passed out that I was moving and twisting him all over the place and he didn’t care. It was crazy fun:
I seriously miss these guys already. I love babies but am usually happy to pass them back to their parents after awhile, but a day with these boys and I was smitten. Thank you Jackie and Derek for letting me crash your house so soon after having them. It was such a great experience and it was great to visit with you. Can’t wait til next time! (we need to start planning a next time…I’ll cry if I don’t see them for 6 months!)
*EDIT* I had to add this pic of me holding the boys. Jackie took it with her camera after I had packed up all my stuff. I realized that with all the picture taking I didn’t have one of myself with them! She managed to find time to email them to me…not sure how.
holy cute teeny tiny babies! I love the pic under the tree!
My favorite is ‘Grandpa’s Present’! Girl that is good.
I can’t wait for you to have a baby so I can buy bunches of polka dot stuff for your baby!

Wow! I can’t see through my tears to type this! I love the first one with the peach fuzz showing in the sunlight. They look so “all boy” and adorable at the same time! Jackie and Derek, you did good! They are beautiful babies. Mom
They are the cutest. Mini versions of their parents. I cannot wait to meet them. This makes me want to move back to Florida tomorrow!
Sweet Babies….. love em. Beautiful images Kylene… wish you had time to stop by and say Hi! but you sound as busy as me these days. I just photographed twin girls 4 months old and I know just what you mean about one was a wake or crying when the other was not. Oh My!

I am breathless. Period. I sit and stare at these two munchkins all day long and of course I think they are the cutest babies in the entire wide world, but it didn’t stop me from bursting into tears the minutes I looked at the blog. These pictures have absolutely taken my breath away. I know I am in super hormonal mode right now . . . but I know for sure that even if I wasn’t, I still wouldn’t be able to breathe. . Thank you for the tribute to my dad–I know he would just have eaten that picture up! I love you to pieces for taking time out to come down and jump right into the twin chaos in order to capture the images I didn’t have the energy to attempt. They are just priceless. One day I will figure out how to repay you!
