Brittney and Chris closed (finally!) on their dream house today, so I thought it would be appropriate to share some pictures from the two shoots that we did of them! This entire project was very calculated and deliberate, and I think the results prove it. Brittney had the genius idea to document their new home as it was being constructed. We decided to shoot in two phases – the first phase would have the walls and beams up, but no roof, then the second phase would have the house a little more “buttoned up”, but very much not finished. She was extra dedicated and rented the same gorgeous sequined dress twice, bought sunflowers twice, dragged Chris out for pictures TWICE! You get the idea…it was a lot of work. (huge shoutout to my friend Terri Smith of Terri Smith Details for the furniture and lights we used during phase two!)
So as if all of this wasn’t enough, Brittney came in with her mom for their order session and kept Chris in the dark that the pictures were even finished. She wanted to have canvases ordered and installed on the day they closed, so when they first came to their new home it would already have artwork on the walls. So this morning, Ryan and I met her mom at the house and got everything hung before they got there with a moving truck full of stuff! Whew! I love a good surprise so it was great to be in on this one. Enjoy your first night in your new home and happy 1st anniversary you two!!
This was the verse they used during their wedding ceremony, so they wrote it above the frame of their bedroom doorway. It’s all covered up now with dry wall and paint, but they’ll always know it was under there! Brittney picked this as a canvas for their bedroom.
And so begins phase two!
